We decided to take on a formidable opponent this winter, one that has plagued us with headaches in the past, one that offers a bit of stimulation, loads of frustration and an end result that can fit in the palm of your hand. Not sure it's worth it, but hey, what else do we have to do this winter...
Tamiya models are a difficult thing to come across these days, especially one such as this. Making its debut at the 1990 US Grand Prix, the McLaren-Honda MP4/5B was driven by Aryton Senna and Gerhard Berger throughout the '90 and '91 seasons. Powered by Honda's RA100E V10 powerplant, and featuring an assortment of aerodynamic improvements over the previous year, the above model is an exact replica of the car Senna drove at the Monaco GP in 1990. Follow our build progress, encourage us along the way, comment on the result. ColdTrackDays, keeping you entertained at any cost // 10.21.2008

haha oh man! when i was 10 i used to have my dad buy me tamiya models. i think out of fourteen, i finished two successfully. tough stuff.
ReplyDeleteeventually GranTurismo came out, and that satisfied me enough to stop ruining model cars :p
he speaks the truth! tamiyas are projects of love and test of determination. i still have a good sized stack of unfinished models. for me it was the discovery of 1/32 scale slot cars. they're like models but you know, they move!
ReplyDeletei look at my tamiya boxes and think, "one day, one day."
