Team Seattle // Le Mans Classic

Team Seattle, a staple in the racing community here in the Northwest, has just successfully completed the Le Mans Classic this past weekend. In preperation for their 2009 Le Mans effort, Don Kitch Jr., Chris Bingham and Woody Perkins manned two separate cars, a 1972 Chevron B-21 sports racer (Kitch and Pallis), and a 1969 Corvette (Bentley, Bingham and Perkins) in the fourth running of what has become the biggest vintage race in the world. Kitch and Pallis completed the race within the top ten, though engine trouble struck the Corvette, taking them out of the race with a lap and a half remaining. Don Kitch, Team Seattle founder said, “The trip could not have gone better. Driving Le Mans is extremely challenging, and now that we’ve spent time on the track we’re absolutely ready for next year’s 24 hour race – we belong here. We also made connections with key officials, organizers and race teams. And as an experience for the drivers and our families, it could not have been better. The entire trip exceeded our expectations – mission number one has been accomplished.” June of 2009 will see Team Seattle return to Le Mans, this time in a pair of Porsches // 07.18.2008
