"Frankly, I couldn't be happier", commented Bartrum before adding," We know Steven's potential well, having worked with him in the Carrera Cup before the BTCC, but then the chance to add Mat to the line-up was something really worth working for, his record in just three seasons in the BTCC speaks for itself."
29yr old Kane wasted no time refamilirising himself with the BMW 320i at yesterdays BTCC Toca Test at Brands Hatch when he set the pace at the front of the field during the three hour morning session.
The Irishman also didn't pull any punches when asked for his views on the season ahead " I have great respect for David and I think he has really put a great team together I am sure that with Mat I have a fantastic team-mate. I'm positive we will form a good partnership both on and off the track and in reality I believe that this will enable both of us to have a real good shout for the title!"
After the departure of driver Robb Collard to West Surrey Racing earlier in the month the team were buoyed by the reversal of commercial partner Wrigleys Airwaves decision to quit the series, and now with the arrival of such a strong driver pairing the whole team are looking forward to the opening meeting at Thruxton Circuit on April 4th - a circuit which the team feel could provide them with a healthy opening series points haul.
