NEWS // DTM CARS TO RUN IN JAPANESE SUPER GT SERIES?

The Deutsche Tourenwagen Masters (DTM) series is currently comprised of only two automakers, Mercedes-Benz and Audi. In an effort to increase their audience and potentially attract more manufacturers to the series, Autosport is reporting that DTM officials are negotiating with the AUTOBACS Super GT Series, in hopes that the two might combine forces for 2010.

If the merger were to take place, the AUTOBACS Super GT Series, which Honda, Lexus, Nissan and Aston Martin are currently participating in, would not see DTM cars racing against the somewhat unrestricted GT500 class, but would instead see the DTM series run in conjunction with the Super GT series and hopefully attract more automakers, i.e. BMW, to the all-German racing series // [comment]
