Amazingly, Jason Plato and his RML Chevrolet Lacetti claimed all three race wins to end up only 5 points away from a second title. In Vaukhall's last ever BTCC race Italian Fabrizio Giovanardi drove his heart out in pursuit of a third straight championship but could not overcome Turkington in a frenetic race three dice.
