Yesterday's Japanese Grand Prix at the Suzuka Circuit was a bit anticlimactic. After a qualifying session ripe with failures, I was sure that when the green flag waved at Suzuka, turn one would be nothing short of a mess and that only those able to avoid, out run, or out maneuver the inevitable first turn pileup would stay in contention for a race win. Not the case. Save for an attempted pass by Trulli to take the P2 spot from Hamilton (which he would do later in the race), the start of the 2009 Japanese Grand Prix went off without a hitch. And for that matter, the entire contest was, well, a bit boring.
