Here is a (very) short video from our experience at this years 2008 Italian Grand Prix at Monza. This was a first for the staff at ColdTrackDays, and we were unsure of what to expect. Loud. Fast. Impressive. Crowded. All of which was present. But what we didn't expect, and what was so obvious throughout the experience, was the passion. Fans both young and old, lined the fence, pushing for elbow room, securing a spot, looking for a better angle, just a little closer view as Felippe Massa made his 40th pass. We are missing that in the states. Sure, we love motorsports (I have been to a few NASCAR events), but to watch as the fans filed out from behind the fences as the checkered flag waved, as we marched down the track where only moments before Massa, Hamilton and Kubica had laid a little rubber, watching as fans, waving flags of their preferred auto maker, their favored driver, hurried toward the podium stand, I felt that passion. No, I wasn't waving a huge Ferrari flag or blowing an obnoxious boat horn (plenty of others were doing that for me), but what we were doing was participating in the experience at a level far deeper than one could ever hope for back home. To be at Monza, to see the old banking of the track now so long forgotten, to march the current track with current fans. Unforgettable. Oh, as our readers are the ones that make it all possible, the staff here at ColdTrackDays just wanted to say thank you for all the support!
