NEWS // ACO TO ELIMINATE GT1 CLASS FROM LE MANS

The ACO have announced that the current GT1 class will be integrated into a new GT2 category for next year. This news comes as no surprise, as the ACO effectively cancelled the GT1 class last year, however they allowed the new generation of cars built for the 2010 FIA GT1 World Championship to race in this years 24 Hours of Le Mans. For next year however, the ACO plans to reorganize the current GT2 regulations creating a two-tier class and effectively eliminating GT1. According to Autosport, these changes have been approved by both Corvette Racing's four-time class winner Oliver Gavin and Aston Martin's Tomas Enge // [comment]
