DTM // MATTIAS EKSTROM WINS @ VALENCIA

Mattias Ekström (Audi) has won the second 2010 DTM round at the Circuit de la Comunitat Valenciana Ricardo Tormo today. Having started from pole , the Swede crossed the finish line 0.435 seconds ahead of his team- mate and fellow Audi driver Martin Tomczyk who benefited from a clever pitstop strategy after lining up only ninth on the grid. “Last year, I didn’t have one single win. So it really is time to be happy. That is what one should always do after a victory, but we also have to maintain our concentration for the next races”, the 31-year old said,

The podium at Valencia was completed by Bruno Spengler (Mercedes-Benz)who now takes over the points' lead in the DTM drivers' standings after two rounds by a single point from Exstrom. Reigning DTM champion Timo Scheider (Audi) ended up fifth following home Alexandre Prémat. Paul Di Resta (Mercedes-Benz) finished sixth, followed by Mike Rockenfeller (Audi) and Gary Paffett (Mercedes-Benz).
