The ultra experienced 43 year old who is widely regarded as one of the best touring car drivers of all time will make a sensational return to the UK this weekend at Thruxton for the opening rounds of this years series.

Giovanardi was thought by many to have left the series for good after Vauxhall pulled its works support for Triple Eight at the end of last year.

As last season with the late deal that saw former champion Jason Plato line up at the opening round at Brands Hatch, Giovanardi's return is a major coup for the British series and having the ultra experienced and amiable Italian on the grid once more will certainly go down extremely well with fans of the BTCC.
