PREVIEW // SEAT CONFIDENT AHEAD OF WTCC FINALE

With the final race of the 2009 World Touring Car Championship taking place at Macau this weekend the SEAT team are in a confident mood. As always at Macau nothing is guaranteed however and with the narrow undulating nature of the famous street circuit certain as ever to play its part in the proceedings, their may well be a final twist to the 2009 drivers championship.

The record books are a surprise when looking back at previous Macau races as Seat are still actually to register a win around the sinuous circuit. As usual on street circuits qualifying will be crucial and with the "Guia" circuit's extensive straight an element of slip-streaming team tactics will play it's part.

Going into the weekend, Seat Sport's boss Jaime Puig commented "In such a close-run championship as this one, with ten cars all within a second of each other, winning one title is a great achievement in itself. But the full team will go all out to win the two, and in view of the rule changes brought in during the year, that would be an absolutely outstanding result. I am convinced that teamwork will enable Gabriele Tarquini and Yvan Muller to strengthen their positions against Augusto Farfus in order to carry off the drivers’ title.”
