Rumor has it, French racing driver Jean Alesi will soon be back behind the wheel of a Ferrari. The former F1 pilot, who raced for the Scuderia from 1991 through 1995, was seen testing a F430 GT2 at Fiorano earlier this week. Having retired from Formula One in 2001, Alesi has since raced in the DTM series, as well as headlining the new Speedcar Series. If the rumors are true, Alesi will pilot the AF Corse F430 GT2, a team run by Amaro Ferrari that shares strong ties with both Maranello and Maserati. As two-time FIA GT Series champions, AF Corse plans on racing in the European Le Mans Series in 2010, with the 45 year old Alesi at the wheel of one of their F430’s.
