Dubbed the LP550-2 Valentino Balboni, LamborAudi has just released a two-wheel drive version of their uber popular Gallardo. Dedicated to Lamborghini test driver and product development lead, Balboni, the LP550-2 is powered by Audi’s 5.2L V10 (good for around 550bhp) and will tip the scales at 3,000lbs, about 300lbs less than the AWD Gallardo.
The reduction in weight as well as the launch properties of RWD allow the LP550-2 to sprint to sixty in just 3.9 seconds and top out around 199mph. Additional features include new springs, dampers, tires and even an updated stability and traction control system.
So is the LP550-2 the answer to what I see as the only problem with Lamborghini's current lineup? Well, 550bhp, a proper manual gearbox and rear-wheel drive certainly can't hurt.
