CTD @ LE MANS // FREE FRIDAY AT THE LE MANS CIRCUIT

The Le Mans circuit is roughly ten minutes from our Chateau and after a quick bite to eat with the other Team Seattle guests, we plugged the address into our Garmin GPS and headed out to collect our tickets and take advantage of Friday's pit walk... [read more]

The roads in and around the Le Mans circuit are packed with endurance racing fans. Traveling across the channel, the British set up camp along side the roads around the circuit and are eager to encourage passers by to put on a show. This fellow obliged.

With tickets in hand, we made our way through the endless field of vendor tents and onto pit lane. Seeing as how it was Friday, the ACO opens the pits for general admission which subsequently draws a huge crowd of spectators.

The Peugeot pits were packed full of French fans. The team, working tirelessly no doubt, had the noses of their LMP1 cars on display as they worked on what appeared to be brake issues.

Fitting isn't it.

The Team Seattle Ferrari 430GT of Don Kitch Jr., Joe Foster and Patrick Dempsey. While the team did not qualify atop their class, it was good to see the car on all four wheels, with the Team Seattle colors being waved proudly.

Here is another LMP team preparing their car for todays test of endurance.

Having qualified first in the LMP1 category, team Audi Sport and their R15 look strong heading into this afternoons race.

The Aston Martin prototype sporting the Gulf livery and the 007 badging. Brilliant.

Ahead of our departure to the Le Mans circuit this afternoon, I would like to thank Don and Donna Kitch as well as Frank Greif and all of Team Seattle for their continued support of ColdTrackDays and this amazing opportunity to witness the greatest motorsport spectacle of them all. That said, I would also like to encourage you to show your support for Team Seattle and their beneficiary, Children's Hospital, by visiting the Team Seattle website and participating in the per-lap pledge drive. More information can be found here.

Stay tuned for more from the 24 Hours of Le Mans!
