Porsche will be updating their museum in the next few months and word on the blogosphere is, the first twelve choices for the ‘new museum’ are currently being installed. Among the first will be the infamous 356 Cabriolet, as well as the first prototype of the Porsche 924. Not yet open to the public, the museum’s grand opening is scheduled for early 2009, with over 300 exhibits expected on display. Three themes will be featured in the new museum, the spirit of Porsche,’the ‘iconic 911, and the company’s motorsport history. According to museum director Klaus Bischof, all of the cars will be restored to original condition and will be fully operational and drivable. A big improvement over the original Porsche museum, which currently houses 20 exhibits and opened in 1976, the new museum is sure to draw a crowd. Maybe a ColdTrackDays field trip is in order... // 11.07.2008
