TURBO POWER // AUDI'S NEW TT RS

Slightly fixated on small cars at the moment, so we apologize for the abundance of coverage. But, seeing as how we are in Rome, and Rome is populated by mini and micro mini automobiles, we felt it proper to post on Audi’s new TT RS. Fans of the original, the staff here at ColdTrackDays is in what we would like to call a transitional phase. Once feeling that only large bore, huge displacement V8’s were accceptable means of both transportation and coolness, our views are starting to change. The original TT had some style, a little bubbly (no offense) but cool none the less. Available with turbocharged power, the TT made for great economical fun (we’re all about that right now, if you can’t tell...), but lacked in the ‘scary fast’ department. Solution. Audi engineers, recognizing the problem, have now squeezed a 2.5 Liter, twin turbocharged five (maybe six, still all rumor at this point) cylinder, worth a solid 350bhp, into the little two seater. Now thats what we’re talking about. Available by years end, look for sticker prices to be in the $70,000 range // 09.06.2008
