Celebrating a one year anniversary is often a scary moment. It either means you have made a huge mistake, realized it, and are now regretting the moves you made some 12 months ago, or, it means you are at the top of your game and have nothing to do but look down at those struggling to keep up, and stick your tongue out. Ok, so maybe that is a little over the top, but Washington based SSC is celebrating one year at the top of the supercar food chain, and we felt it appropriate to take note. SSC’s 1,200bhp ‘Ultimate Aero,’ laid down a two-way average time of 256.18 mph just over a year ago, and this only the second time an auto, deemed ‘world’s fastest production car,’ has held the title for more than a year (the last car was the McLaren F1, and it held the title for six!). Looking to lay claim to the ultimate prize in the supercar market, Jarod Shelby, owner and developer of the ‘Ultimate Aero,’ is currently at his desk, working up a successor.
