This year marks the 40th anniversary of Jaguars saloon, the XJ. In its lifetime, the XJ has sold over 900,000 units, and with a new model due in but a few years, those numbers should not slow. The first XJ model, launched in 1968 and has remained their flagship since. To celebrate 40 years, Jaguar will be holding a special event at Germany's Nurburgring, to include a presentation of the 1969 XJ6 Series 1, that was once owned by Sir William Lyons. Also in attendance, a 1972 XJ12 that once belonged to the Queen's mother. We do not need to say much about the Jaguar XJ series, a car that, having transcended time, is sure to impress in years to come // 08.05.2008
