From a group of chassis manufacturers that included BAT, Dallara, DeltaWing, Lola, and Swift, the IndyCar Series has just announced that Dallara will build their 'new' chassis starting in 2012. According to our friends at Autoblog, Dallara's 2012 chassis will help reduce cost for teams by up to 40%, is safer and weighs 185 pounds less than the current chassis. However, for a series that offers little in the way of diversity, with Dallara building the chassis and Honda supplying the engines, the future of open wheel racing here in the United States is, in our opinion, rather bleak // [comment]
