2010 INDIANAPOLIS 500 // RACE RESULTS

Having started on the front row, Dario Franchitti managed to pull out the win for Chip Ganassi Racing at this years Indianapolis 500. This would lead to a drive-through penalty for Power, dropping him to 25th. Following the incident, Franchitti was able to retake the lead and would stay out front, even though he slowed his pace to conserve fuel. Dan Wheldon for Panther Racing finished second, while Marco Andretti, who had originally finished sixth, was granted a third place finish following a post race review that showed that three cars had passed him during the final caution period.

Franchitti's win meant that his team owner, Chip Ganassi, became the first owner to win both the Indianapolis 500 and the NASCAR Daytona 500 in the same season.
