HISTORY // THE 1957 PIKES PEAK HILL CLIMB

Just stumbled across this footage from the 1957 Pikes Peak International Hill Climb. First held in August of 1916, the PPIHC has seen a wide variety of cars climb the 12.42 miles to the top, including the record setting Saab 9-3 Viggen 4x4 of Per Eklund, the Compact Power ER3 of Jeri Unser, the unstoppable Suzuki XL7 of Nobuhiro Tajima and most recently the 2010 Hyundai Genesis Coupe of Rhys Millen.
