CULTURE // HOW PASTRANA BECAME A RALLY LEGEND

Our friend Sam Smith at Jalopnik just published this wonderful blog post highlighting the career of motocross champion turned rally racer, Travis Pastrana. Starting at the tender age of 19, Pastrana has since collected two gold medals at the X-Games and four consecutive Rally America championships.

I don't want to sound rude, but he is far from being a rally legend.

The Rally America Championship is not known for its high level.

Loeb, Makkinen, Kankkunen, Mikkola or Waldegaard are true rally legends, not Pastrana.

    About the above guys comment^^

I haven't read the article highlighting travis' accomplishments, but I can assure you that his skill level and future will prove you wrong. He will undoubtedly be a rally legend, and has already made an enormous mark.

He is known by other rally america competitors as a total stand out, and beyond his speed commitment and enthusiasm, he genuinely cares about his fans and the sport. I don't give a rat's a$$ about what some euro trash f1 driver is doing in WRC in some area with way more accessibility and support for rally racing... Just a little advice, your so called 'higher skill level' in europe and australia is seriously tarnished by your blatant arrogance.

You seriously picked the wrong american rally star to disrespect, because Pastrana is legit, and that guy shed a tear on T.V. because HIS hero Colin McRae died in that accident shortly after competing together.

I recently decided that Colin McRae and Travis Pastrana are my hero's and who I strive to be behind the wheel of my STi.
