HISTORY // GREEN FLAG @ THE 1967 24 HOURS OF DAYTONA

Courtesy of Nigel Smuckatelli and the Ford Archieves, check out this shot from the start of the 1967 24 Hours of Daytona. First in line is the Shelby American Ford Mk II of A.J. Foyt and Dan Gurney, while Jim Hall and Phil Hill's Chaparral 2F is second. Unfortunately, neither car finished the race, as a faulty connecting rod took the ford out of competion, while the Chaparral was forced to retire early due to suspension damage.

Ferrari would go on to win the race, sweeping the podium as Lorenzo Bandini and Chris Amon finished first in the #23 Ferrari 330 P3/4, followed by Mike Parkes and Ludovico Scarfiotti's #24 P4 and then the #26 Ferrari 412P of Pedro Rodriguez and Jean Guichet // [comment]
