Designed, built and driven by Jim Hall, the Chaparral 2G was entered into a number of Can-Am events during the 1967 season. Powered by a 525hp 7.0-liter V8, Hall managed to win two Can-Am races with the 2G, however an accident in November of 1967 ended Hall's racing career, as well as that of his Chaparral 2G. I'm fairly certain I saw this car race, when I was a very young boy at Road America. IIRC it finished behind the two McLaren cars.
ReplyDeleteDoes anyone know what track this was shot at?
ReplyDeleteAccording to 'Gee Dub' on CTD's Facebook page, the photo was taken at "Bridgehampton, top of the hill on the back straight before the right hander onto the front straight."
