NEWS // AUDI UNVEILS THEIR 'R15 PLUS' LMP1 ENTRY

Audi, hoping to improve on last years performance at the 24 Hours of Le Mans, just unveiled a new, more aerodynamic nose for their R15 TDI LMP1 entry. Following a rule change intended to slow the pace of the ever dominant diesel powered prototypes, a rule that mandated smaller-diameter air restrictors and curbed supercharger pressure, Audi was forced to update the aerodynamic package on their R15, the result of which can be seen above.

Accodring to our sources, Audi has rebranded their LMP1 entry as the ‘R15 Plus,’ and has begun testing the car here in the United States, with further testing to follow in Europe before the cars line up at Le Mans. Additionally, Audi claims their 5.5-liter diesel V10 continues to produce 590hp and with the added aero, expect their R15 Plus to do quite well this season // [comment]
