To say the race was exciting would be an understatement. As dark clouds loomed overhead, only a few drivers headed to pitlane to switch from slicks to rain tires. A few minutes later the rain came. The race was halted, allowing the remainder of the field to pit. When the green flag waved again, the drivers, who had to battle not only the weather, but an uneven track surface, as well as excessive dust and debris, had only a few laps to sort out who would win the first race of the season.
