CORRESPONDENCE // PHIL WOODARD @ SEBRING

I arrived at the track late this afternoon. The first priority was to go to registration and get my credential and parking pass. After arriving and getting the tickets, I went to the press center to check what time the photo meetings are. I missed them today but will be attending the 7:15 am meeting tomorrow... [read more]

Here are my thoughts on the entry list and some of today's afternoon test results:

The fastest times were set by both Peugeots, which isnt a big surprise for the diesels. The Honda ARX-01C p2 car was third fastest today ahead of every petrol powered prototype. The Drayson Lola Judd was faster in the winter testing than todays session but they still have some setup work to do for what is them a new track. The Porsche RS Spyder was 5th fastest followed by the both the Dyson Mazda Lola and and the Autocon Lola.

The top five LMPC cars were only separated by a just over half a second, with the last car only a few seconds off the pace. The GT2 cars were not too far behind with both Corvettes leading followed by the Risi Ferrari. The fastest Porsche was the Falken team followed by the #45 Flying Lizards car. The other Risi Ferrari was ahead of the other Flying Lizards Porsche and the Jaguar XKRS did not post a competitive time.

Alex Job Racing is back with the ALMS and was leading the GTC class with their lucky number 23. Also returning to the ALMS is The Racers Group.

More updates and photos will follow tomorrow.

Cheers,

Phil Woodard
