F1 TESTING @ JEREZ // FEBRUARY 20TH

As the teams prepared for their eighth day of testing at the Jerez Circuit, it appeared the weather was finally ready to cooperate. On track for the first time was Jarno Trulli in the new Lotus T127. Additionally, Lotus, although slowed by Kovalainen's mistake the other day, have completed 174 laps thus far, and are only 29 laps behind Virgin Racing who were able to test all of last week.

During today's session, it was Jenson Button who finished the day atop the time sheets, putting in a 78.871 lap of the Spanish circuit, some 0.243 seconds ahead of Robert Kubica in the Renault R30. Filling in the number three spot was Kamui Kobayashi in the Sauber C29, finishing the day a mere 0.317 seconds off the pace of Button.
