F1 TESTING @ JEREZ // FEBRUARY 17TH

All but two of the 2010 F1 teams were at the Jerez Circuit this afternoon for the first day of what is to be the third and final winter test session of the pre-season. With clouds looming overhead, drivers headed took to the track, putting in as many laps as possible before the weather turned for the worst.

Leading today's test was the Red-Bull Renault of Sebastian Vettel, who managed a 82.593 second lap of the Spanish circuit, nearly a half second faster than Lewis Hamilton. Filling out the top three was the Ferrari F10 of Felipe Massa, who finished the day one tenth of a second off the pace of Hamilton. Also of note is the poor performance of all three Cosworth powered F1 entries. With but a fraction of a second separating the top five drivers, it was the Cosworth powered cars that filled in the bottom three spots, some four and nine seconds slower than the rest of the field.
