Expected at next months Amelia Island Concours is this 1964 Shelby Corba, chassis CSX2557. One of just 42 289-powered racecars built by Shelby, this particular Cobra was raced in the U.S. Road Racing Championships (USRRC) and was one of just six cars to feature the 'cutback door.'
Many of the design features would find their way onto later Cobras, such as the widened fenders, larger intakes and side-exit exhaust. And while this car has a small, by comparrison, racing history, it is nonetheless one of the most original examples in existence.
