After a number of pre-production and test session photos made their way onto the internet, Nissan has since released official images of their newly developed GT-R GT1 race car.
Powered by a normally aspirated 5.5-liter V8, which is said to produce 600hp and 479lb/ft of torque, the new GT1 class GT-R has little in common with the road going GT-R from which it is derived. Featuring a six speed sequential gear box, a rear-drive layout, ceramic brakes and a plethora of aerodynamic improvements, Nissan's new GT-R GT1 should do quite well next season, barring any mechanical failures.

Beautiful racecar! I almost don't want to see it with a livery... the white is stunning. I love the details, from the carbon fiber foot pedal box to the revised aero.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful? It's a goddamn tank. It's also a complete mockery of the idea of GT racing, as it has a racing rather than production based engine. Nissan are basically paying to have the championship made to their requirements.
ReplyDeleteDisgusting.
The amount of undeserved publicity this car is getting is horrific.
Dear Nissan: here is a real GT1.
