"The Le Mans 24 hour endurance race has become a motor racing institution. For the past 80 years since its inaugural running in 1923, cars have raced throughout the night around the unique circuit that is Le Mans. It's a race that demands everything; speed and endurance, technology, talent, teamwork, and trust. And at the end of the day probably a little bit of luck as well. It's a marathon of a race covering up to five thousand kilometers at speeds in excess of 220 miles per hour. It is the equivalent of a whole grand prix season in one race, and yet the winning margin has sometimes been as little as twenty meters. It is twenty four hours of unrelenting pressure for the drivers, the teams, and the car. This is not your average day."
