2010 DAKAR RALLY // PETERHANSEL COLLECTS STAGE 8 WIN

BMW driver Stephane Peterhansel collected the stage win yesterday, as the 2010 Dakar Rally reached its half way point. The win for Peterhansel seemed rather uneventful however, as the BMW driver is now more than two hours off the pace of overall leader, Carlos Sainz.

Sainz, who finished second in yesterdays eighth stage, leads a trio of Volkswagens in the overall standings. Sitting third behind Sainz and Al-Attiyah is Mark Miller, while fellow American Robby Gordon managed to finish yesterdays stage a respectable tenth, although he is now more than five hours off the pace of Sainz.
