OUR FAVORITE RACING CARS // THE JAGUAR XJ220C

Our Favorite Racing Cars is a new weekly feature we'd like to implement here @ColdTrackDays, and what better to start things off then my favorite road going car of all time, the Jaguar XJ220.

In 1992, a racing version of the XJ220 was built, dubbed the XJ220C. Driven by Win Percy, the Jaguar XJ220C won its first race, a round of the BRDC National Sports GT Challenge at Silverstone. In 1993, three factory backed XJ220C's were entered in the 24 Hours of Le Mans, driving in the newly created Grand Touring Class. Although two of the three cars retired, the final XJ220C, driven by John Nielsen, David Brabham and David Coulthard, managed to take the checkered flag and a class win. Their victory was short lived however, when two weeks later the XJ220C was disqualified for a technical infringement.

Although Jaguar's XJ220C saw little success in motor sport, it remains one of the most impressive racing cars ever produced, at least in my opinion.
