The car, which Prost won the 1986 Formula One World Championship with, was at the McLaren Technology Center to celebrate a contract extension between the UK Formula One team and the Swiss watch maker.

McLaren first used TAG Heuer branded Porsche engines in their MP4/1D, which Niki Lauda raced at the 1983 Dutch Grand Prix. The following year, with the help of TAG Heuer’s sponsorship, the team went on to win 12 of the 16 Grand Prix.

The celebration included an awards ceremony, a banquet dinner and a meet-and-greet with McLaren driver Lewis Hamilton, Martin Whitmarsh, Jean Christophe Babin and Jack Heuer.

The evening concluded when Hamilton drove Alain Prost's MP4/2B and parked it alongside his Championship winning MP4/23.
