The beauty of an MX5 is that little needs to be done in order for the owner to have a rather extraordinary automobile. And while power is often absent from the equation, I mean really, aside from turbo charging, only so much power can be derived from their 1.8-liter four, but it is in this absence of power that the beauty of a Miata is most evident.
A low ride height, short wheelbase, wide tires, stiff springs and an exhaust note reminiscent of the Lotus Elan which the MX5 was styled after - what more could a motorsport enthusiast ask for? Simplicity overcomes extravagance. Handling prowess greater than excessive power // [comment]
