HISTORY // THE PORSCHE FACTORY: 1972

There was a time when cars were assembled by hand, each seeing a great deal of care and craftsmanship, a time when the connection between the assembly line worker and his product was a great deal closer than todays autmotive manufacturing plants. And while I recognize some factories, Ferrari for instance, still do a great deal of hand assembling, the days of pouring sweat, blood and tears into an automobile are long since over. Thankfully in some respects. But at the same time, the craftsmanship that accompanied an early 70’s Porsche cannot be matched by todays mass production techniques.
