The 1963 Corvette Grand Sport, what some may argue is the most iconic Chevrolet race car, ever, is now available as a reproduction through Superformance.
Built to compete with the Ford powered Cobras of Carroll Shelby, the Corvette Grand Sport was a dominant force in American sports car racing until General Motors cancelled the program. And while only a fortunate few will ever own an origianl Corvette Grand Sport, the gentlemen at Superformance have just announced they will build the GS as both a coupe and a convertible, thanks to a new parternership with GM.
Customers will have the choice of either a street or race prepped version (shown) of the iconic Chevy, and like their GT40 and Cobra replicas, the Superformance Corvette Grand Sport will be as close to the original as possible.
Able to accept nearly all of the GM Performance Parts crate engines, we expect there will be a few 427c.i. powered GS’s running laps around stateside race tracks next season.
