Formula Renault is an open wheel racing series powered by Renault’s F4R832, a 2.0-liter 16-valve four-cylinder sourced from the Clio RS. The powerplant is mated to a seven-speed sequential gearbox and the new Formula Renault 2.0, with its in-house carbon-fiber chassis, will be available for $85,000 by the time you read this.
With a handful of current Formula One drivers (Felipe Massa, Lewis Hamilton, Robert Kubica and Kimi Raikkonen) having passed through the series on their way to F1, the new Formula Renault 2.0 is, in our opinion, one of the most important updates to an open wheel race series in the last ten years.
