The fastest recorded lap at the Nurburgring’s Nordeschleife was set on May 28th, 1983 by Stefan Bellof during qualifying for the 1983 Word Endurance Championship. His time of 6:11.13, set in a Porsche 956 Group C racer, has yet to be beat. That was the last time prototypes raced around the 12.93 mile circuit, moving to the newly developed Grand Prix circuit the following year.
