THE PARTICIPANTS // 2009 PIKES PEAK INTERNATIONAL HILL CLIMB

With the 87th annual Pikes Peak Internatioanl Hill Climb but a few days out (Sunday to be precise) and considering we have a correspondent who will be reporting live from the mountain (a certain Grady Nguyen), I though it would be interesting to take a look at some of the cars that will be making a run up the mountain this year.

First up is Ford Racing’s 800bhp Ford Fiesta Rally Car. Two of these monster Fiesta’s will be competing in this years PPIHC and will be piloted by two-time WRC champion Marcus Grönholm and four-time Swedish rally champ Andreas Eriksson. As this is the Fiesta’s introduction into the US motorsport community, I don’t think Ford could have chose of a better way of showcasing what a little time and (a lot of) money can do to your average Fiesta.
