DAVID JURCA TAKES WIN // STARS OF KARTING - ROUND 1

ItalKart factory driver and Seattle native, David Jurca, finished first in the Senior National category during last weeks Stars of Karting National Series in Ocala, Florida. Scoring wins in the prefinal and final races, Jurca now holds the points lead heading into the next round.

Starting the prefinal race in the sixth position, Jurca worked his way through the crowd and was in second place by the end of lap one. A few laps later, Jurca caught the leader, overtook him, and maintained his position for the remainder of the race.

Starting on the pole position for the final race, Jurca took the holeshot into turn one and pulled away with an early lead. Consistency was key for Jurca, and after a few laps, he had amassed a two second lead over the number two position. With a comfortable lead, Jurca went on to finish first in the final race.

David Jurca had this to say about his successful weekend in Ocala: “The Italian Motors tuned ItalKart Parilla package worked very well today,” said Jurca. “The competition was tough and even included current Indy Car driver Dan Wheldon.  The kart was consistent all the way to the end with some of my fastest laps coming with five laps to go. I want to thank my mechanic Scott Cowell for working relentlessly through some of our problems in the heat races so that we could come back strong when it counted most.”
