A 225MPH CAT // JAGUAR TESTS THEIR XFR AT BONNEVILLE

With Jaguar's new XFR uber sedan having been unleashed on the public, it came as no surprise when we heard the gentlemen at Jaguar had done a bit of high speed testing at the Bonneville Salt Flats before the release of their new cat.

Driven by Paul Gentilozzi, the Bonneville ready XFR was modified with all of the appropriate safety pieces, as well as a low-mounted rear spoiler and an unrestricted ECU which allowed the supercharged kitty to put some 600bhp to the pavement, er, salt. Results? The XFR laid down a 225.675 mph pass, besting Jaguars previous land speed record of 217.1 set by their XJ220 supercar back in 1992. A fitting test for an amazing piece of machinery // 01.13.2009
