NBC, the network originally scheduled to air the American version of Top Gear, has reportedly backed out of the deal, leaving US viewers wondering how the producers of Knight Rider managed an entire season, while a Top Gear knock off gets the back burner... But wait, have we spoke too soon? Rumor has it that NBC/BBC are discussing a possible cable bid for their pet project, so we could see Top Gear tomfoolery on American shores after all.
