First and foremost, before we give away the goods on who took home the Belgian GP (assuming you were unable to watch), lets try and clear something up. I know many feel that Hamilton is a bit ego driven, learning little from his mistakes and coming off somewhat cocky. But really, he is 23 years old, current points leader in the Formula One Drivers Championship and only in his second year with F1. Cocky? Sure. Should he be? Probably not, but he certainly has a score card and stat sheet to make anyone smile as much as he does.
Now, with all that said, Hamilton came away from todays Belgian Grand Prix, a bit humbled and somewhat absent of the ego (as well as something else). A much needed chnage from the (boring) Valencia race, the Belgian GP had a bit of everything, even cheating as far as the FIA is concerned. Above is a clip of Hamilton passing Raikkonen, a pass that came under questioning and eventually lead to Hamilton being stripped of the win. Yes, Hamilton won... sort of. After a post race decision by FIA officials, Hamilton has since been penalized 25 seconds, giving Massa the win, Heidfeld the second spot and Hamilton a third place finish. McClaren argued that Hamilton, having passed Raikkonen in the turn, only to then give back the lead, took no advantage. Ferrari on the other hand, argued that if Hamilton not made the pass, he would have been in no position to late brake Raikkonen and overtake him in La Source.
