FOR THE FIRST TIME // SUBARU ON PAVEMENT

Subaru's 2008 WRC entry, the latest incarnation of the WRX STi, will see its first test on the tarmac this coming weekend, when it races in the ADAC Rallye Deutschland. The second asphalt rally of the season, to be held in Germany's wine-producing Mosel region, near the historic city of Trier, will be the first asphalt test of the new Subbie. As much as we enjoy all the grit and grime of gravel rallies, there is something about WRC cars, flat out through rural villages, sideways on narrow country roads, that just does it for us. Now if only SPEED channel would cover the WRC again... // 08.13.2008
