Lotus has jumped on the "green" bandwagon. The latest edition Elise, to be unveiled at the British Motor Show at the end of July, is not utilizing a wild veggie fueled power plant, no, its much simpler than that. How about a hemp hardtop laced with solar panels to remove the usage of an alternator. How about hemp, wool and sisal being used where possible to reduce overall weight by 70 pounds. How about a "green" shift light to remind you of the most fuel efficient shifting points. How about a water based paint and a 'eco guy' color scheme. All of which will provide... better fuel economy. Oh, and we forgot to mention, that 70 pounds they shaved, that helps the little 1.8 liter four put power to the ground, better fuel economy, more power, go figure. We like it // 07.09.2008
