Maserati did it (see MC Corsa), so why not Aston... What you are looking at, is a race prepped version of Aston Martin’s latest Vantage variant, dubbed the Vantage GT4. Featuring the newly introduced 4.7-liter V8, the GT4 weighs 660 lbs less than the production version, and comes complete with roll cage and colum mounted paddle shifter. Price tag? Try $143,000. Not bad if your looking for an entry into the European GT4 championship. I think I'd take the X-Bow 'Race' however... Your thoughts? // 11.17.2008

KTM LOOKING FOR PRIVATEERS // 'X-BOW RACE'

Following a one-two-three finish in the European GT4 Sports Light racing series, KTM has decided to release what they are calling the ‘X-Bow Race.’ A fully homologated GT4 Sports Light race car, KTM is hoping their new X-Bow will be a draw for those looking to compete in the Euro GT4 series. With a base price of €82.900, the ‘X-Bow Race’ features a list of modifications that set it apart from its street legal brethren. Powered by the same 2.0-liter, 240bhp Audi TFSI engine as the street legal variety, the changes come in the form of a race-spec suspension and braking system, Kevlar reinforced side panels, and a racing fuel system with quick-fill capabilities. The ‘X-Bow Race’ can tag sixty in 3.9 seconds and reach a top speed of 137mph, not to mention it is a proven winner, as evidenced by this years GT4 series. Easy to maintain, minimal entry costs and a ‘race day’ budget for GT4 of about €3,000 per race, all of which makes the X-Bow a reasonable alternative to that track car you have been working on for the last three winters... KTM X-BOW CLAIMS TITLE // GT4 SPORTS LIGHTS

In the inaugural season of the European GT4 Sports Light Series, it was the KTM X-Bow that took the crown. Matter of fact, the X-Bow claimed the top three spots at the end of the 18 round series. Besting a class full of Donkervoorts and Lotuses, the German X-Bow driver Christopher Haase managed a handful of wins, enough to take home the drivers championship. A modified X-Bow is expected next season, with additional horsepower and an updated profile. Track toy, proven winner, racing heritage, sounds good to us // 10.17.2008

FIFTH GEAR TESTS // KTM X-BOW
Somewhat of a competitor to the UK's internationally famous Top Gear trio, channel five's Fifth Gear can often excite in ways that Top Gear cannot. Tiff Needell, lead test driver and all around well adjusted car nut, makes even the most mundane ride seem both enthused and exciting. In this particular shot, watch as he man handles the new KTM X-Bow. A car we may never see on our shores, it is good to watch someone enjoy a taste of our forbidden fruit // 09.08.2008
