I hate to say it, but I think the M1 is my favorite Bavarian :o I know, I know, the ever popular E30 M3 is a wonderful car, and the 3.0 CSL a true classic, but just look at this thing! Our friends at Motorsport Retro just posted this great bit of on-board footage featuring the BMW M1 Procar. The BMW M1 Procar Championship, sometimes known simply as Procar, was a one-make auto racing series created by Jochen Neerpasch, head of BMW Motorsport GmbH. The series featured drivers from a number of racing series, to include the Formula One World Championship, World Sportscar Championship and European Touring Car Championship. The championship followed the 1979 Formula One season, with drivers earning entry into the Procar events based on their performance in their Formula One cars. EYE CANDY // AN OBVIOUS CHOICE - BMW'S M1

First of all, I have to apologize for not posting something for ThreeSeriesThursday. With ColdTrackDays running on the side of a GRAND-AM sanctioned, Continental Tire Sports Car Challenge competitor - the TC Motorsports Mustang Boss 302R of Rick Edwards and Ted Anthony Jr. - I suppose I was a bit distracted yesterday when pictures of the aforementioned car landed in my inbox. Albeit exciting, I admit that is no excuse for not posting something and therefore offer you this bit of Eye Candy featuring one of our favorite Bavarians of all time, the M1 Procar // [comment]

2009 SOVREN HISTORICS // M1 PRO CAR, CTD T-SHIRTS & MORE

This weekend is the 2009 SOVREN Pacific Northwest Historics. An annual gathering of Northwest vintage racing enthusiasts, SOVREN is the largest event of the year and the only one of its kind in this area.

Like last year, ColdTrackDays will have a booth along SOVREN's vendor row. ColdTrackDays shirt's will be on sale, as well as signed copies of Garth Stein's novel, The Art of Racing in the Rain. Additionally, the gentlemen at Munich Evolution have brought out their recently acquired 1979 BMW M1 Pro Car, formerly owned by the Prime Minister of Qatar.
