Rumor has it, Campos Meta GP, the Spanish F1 team that has yet to make their debut, owes a bunch of money to Italian chassis designer, Dallara, for cars the company built for the 2010 season. Enter Bernie Ecclestone. Injecting money, potentially from middle-east investors, Ecclestone managed to pay off Dallara, allowing Campos Meta to compete in the 2010 season. Kolles, who is known for his ruthless cost cutting measures, not to mention his connections with Audi and Vokswagen, could potentially entice the German automaker into funding an F1 effort come 2011. And considering the reduced cost of F1 these days, we wouldn't be surprised if the brass in Ingolstadt jumped on the opportunity.

Wouldn't surprise me after i read about their plan to run a multi-purpose engine in a variety of categories to reduce costs. N/A in some classes, add a turbo for others to get the horsepower output right.
